The US government has accused China of providing weapons to Russia to support its offensive in Ukraine, while China denies these allegations and accuses the United States of "adding fuel to the fire." This tension comes as Western pressure mounts on China, which has not publicly taken a position on the Russian offensive in Ukraine but has expressed its support for Moscow in the face of Western sanctions.

The EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, said that China's delivery of weapons to Russia would be a "red line" for the European Union. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China had no intention of providing lethal support to Russia and that the US should stop spreading false information.

The US, for its part, has warned of consequences for China if it provides material support to Russia in its war in Ukraine or helps it evade Western sanctions. US Vice President Kamala Harris has also expressed concerns about the strengthened relationship between China and Russia since the start of the war.
